Just a few days ahead of the Ram Mandir Bhumi Pujan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Ayodhya, a PIL has been filed in the Allahabad High Court seeking a stay on the Bhumi Pujan ceremony.
This letter of Public Interest has been filed by Delhi based journalist Saket Gokhale with the Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court. The main appeal that has been made is that the Bhumi Pujan which is scheduled to happen on the 5th of August is a violation of Unlock 2.0 guidelines and these rules have been put forward by the Centre. Therefore, this event cannot be granted permissions.
