To the uninitiated, Roshni Malhotra Nadar is India’s wealthiest woman with a net worth of Rs 36,800 crore. She’s also 54th on the list of most powerful women in the world, according to Forbes.

The country's richest woman Roshni Nadar Malhotra on Friday became the first woman to head a listed Indian IT company as she took over as the Chairperson of $8.9 billion HCL Technologies from her father and billionaire Shiv Nadar.

However, it is crucial to note that Shiv Nadar will continue to be a part of the company as a Managing Director with the designation of a Chief Strategy Officer. This switch will come into effect starting July 17, 2020.

Shiv Nadar made this announcement while sharing the company’s financial results for June quarter of year 2020-2021. 

He said in a statement, “We are living in unprecedented times where organizations and people across geographies are dealing with challenges related to the pandemic. However, this has also pushed businesses to accept the pandemic as a catalyst for change and look at building agility and resilience into every level of their organization."
